Directions
Wash peas and drain. In large soup pot sauté onions and garlic in oil until soft, around 5 minutes. Add peas, carrots, ham hocks and chicken broth, cover and bring to a boil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat and simmer about 2 hours, until peas are soft and thickened. Remove ham hock, discard bone and skin, and serve soup with ham. |
