Ingredients
1 lb. strawberries, hulled & quartered1 cup heavy cream
6 oz. or 1 cup raspberries1/2 tsp. grated lemon zest
6 oz. or 1 cup blackberries1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup blueberries2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1 cup creme fraiche1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
Directions

Preheat oven to broil, with rack 4 inches from heat. Arrange berries in a 10-inch cast iron skillet. In a bowl whisk together creme fraiche, heavy cream, lemon zest, vanilla and granulated sugar until smooth. Pour over the berries. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top. Broil about 6 minutes until thick and bubbling. [You’re supposed to be able to make your own creme fraiche with 1 cup heavy cream and 1 Tbsp. buttermilk, left overnight on counter to thicken. I tried it for 6 hours and it wasn’t thick, but dessert was delicious anyway, though a bit runny. Note: I left the extra in the fridge and after a week it was nice and thick. So if you can’t find creme fraiche you can make your own.]
